This lick is definitely more advanced technically than some of the others. Practice the consistent triplets very slowly at first until you get the hang of it. This lick was based of an Oscar Peterson intro I was working on with my student over “On A Slow Boat To China”. In this lick we are using a major blues scale which uses the b3 and natural three to create a sliding motion. The whole lick is pretty much this blusey type of scale but it still fits very well over all the harmonies that are moving behind it.
Enjoy!
