Here is a nice arrpeggiated run you can use over the four chord. Not much to it with the notes, but technically there are some cross over that are a little bit tough. The nice texture note we are targeting in this one is the 9, the note C, in the Bb7 chord. We throw this in the run and slide up to it at the very top using some grace notes. Its a very nice ornamental note to use. On the way down we have a 16th note trill then resolve into the third of our F7 chord. Enjoy!

Points for practicing this lick:

  • Arrpeggiate chord tones for runs
  • Play with one extension and see what type of texture that gives you
  • Triplet note feel for arrpeggios works great

Enjoy!
