Technically this line is a little challenging due to the back and forth motion. It will really help you get used to movement back and forth if you work on it. I took a most of the same notes from the recent licks and applied it to this but changed to a Bo7 chord which you will here often. Most of the notes are simply outlining chord tones. We approach the third of the A-7 chord then sneak in the b9 of the D7 chord. Finally we end with a 16th note trill approach down to the third of the G-7 chord.
Points for practicing this lick:
- Use movements up and down to create motion
- Outline chord tones up and down
- 16th note trills sound great as approaches
Enjoy!
