Watch as I build a solo from scratch talking about the importance of specific and harmonic changes you should add.

I also add my thought process at approaching your connections through the harmonies.

  1. Musical scintillations, Brenden,
A wonderful tutorial on improv! Great ideas and perseverance in using your various approaches to creating a solo.
Please work on producing Part II.
    Many thanks, B.F. Phillipson

  2. Love it. Way beyond my abilities. “I Should Care” is one of the songs my old vocal group has recorded on our 62 year reunion CD.

  3. Really enjoy seeing how you put it all together. Please continue with more ‘how to’ solo podcasts.

  4. The key word you mentioned that did all the learning difference for me is “honesty”. Indeed trying useless show off tricks messes up the result, while from an honest harmonic approach even a struggling improviser like me sounds good. I am now practicing your approach and for the first time I really see the light:). I also see the value of practicing bebop! Thanx!
