What’s the first thing we do when we’re driving to a destination we’ve never been?
Pull up the GPS of course.
Why? Because it gives us a map, a plan on how to get to our destination.
Now what would happen if we didn’t do that?
It would be pretty difficult for us to get to our destination. Unfortunately, in jazz piano, this happens all the time.
We don’t have a goal, we don’t have a plan.
We have nothing!
How are you supposed to make progress with that?
Well the answer is…you don’t.
